So, in the spirit of all things festive, we’re reflecting on our top highlights of the year, aka “The 12 Yays of Christmas.” Let’s dive into the good stuff!


1. A Shiny New Website


This year, we gave our website a complete overhaul—new look, new vibe, and user-friendly for everyone. It wasn’t just a facelift; it was a full-on rebrand with a mission. We wanted to ensure that our site reflected who we are—innovative, efficient, and just a little fun. Plus, we launched the "Bright Ideas" section, where we spill all our best local SEO tips. 🎉


2. Two Free Local SEO Tools


We’ve always been about giving back to the SEO community, and in 2019, we went all in. Remember our first free tool, the Local Search Results Checker? This year, we followed that up with Local RankFlux—the go-to for spotting ranking fluctuations in your local market. Plus, we launched the Google Review Link and Place ID Generator. Free, easy-to-use, and built to boost your local SEO game.


3. Three Epic Webinars


From pay-to-play strategies to defeating spam, our webinars went off in 2019. We brought together some of the brightest minds in local SEO to dish out insights and actionable tips. And guess what? 2020 is only going to be bigger, starting with our “State of Local Search” in January. Stay tuned!


4. Four Times the Customer Engagement


Our Business Development squad didn’t just work harder—they worked smarter. This year, they engaged with four times more customers through live demos, personal outreach, and webinars. Shoutout to Oliver James, our demo wizard, for making it all possible.


5. Five Gold Stars (Almost!)


We’re proud to report that we’re sitting pretty at 4.8 stars on Google My Business. That’s all thanks to the efforts of Heather Blankley and the Customer Success team. They’ve been relentless in gathering feedback, improving our services, and keeping us laser-focused on what matters: you.


6. Six Hundred and Forty-Five Hours on Our Help Center


The numbers don’t lie. Our revamped Help Center took 645 hours to build, but it was worth every second. Packed with tips, guides, and answers to your burning questions, it’s designed to make your life easier. And we’re not done yet—we’ve got big plans for 2020 to take customer support to the next level.


7. Seven Brand-New Features


This year, we rolled out seven major new features, including the Report Creation Wizard and Review Inbox. Our Product team doesn’t rest—they’re constantly tweaking and improving tools to ensure BrightLocal works better for you. Got an idea? Send it our way—we’re all ears.


8. Eight International Office Visits


We don’t just connect online; we travel the globe. This year, our team linked up from the UK, Ukraine, Philippines, and the U.S. Because in a digital world, nothing beats face-to-face time. 2020 promises even more trips and global meetups—watch this space.


9. Nine New UK Team Members


We’ve been growing like crazy! This year, we added nine new faces to our UK team across various departments. The more, the merrier—especially when it means we can serve you better. And it’s not just the UK. Our teams in the Philippines and Ukraine grew as well, making us more global than ever.


10. Too Many UK Work Socials to Count


Escape rooms, scavenger hunts, and plenty of pub nights—our UK team didn’t just work hard; they played hard too. Building a strong team culture is at the heart of BrightLocal’s success. Whether we’re cracking SEO or cracking codes, we do it together.


11. Eleven Research Pieces


You know we love data, and this year, we delivered. From the Local Consumer Review Survey to Google My Business Insights, we produced 11 unique research pieces to help local businesses crush it in SEO. 2020’s research lineup is already looking strong—don’t miss out!


12. Twelve Record-Breaking Weeks for Customer Success


We’re proud to say our Customer Success team hit a world-class Net Promoter Score (NPS) over 70 for 12 weeks in a row. One perfect week even hit 100! And they didn’t stop there—customer satisfaction hit an average of 95% this year. Not bad, right?
